Community Solutions

"In times of stress, the best thing we can do for each other is to listen with our ears and our hearts and to be assured that our questions are just as important as our answers." – Fred Rogers, Host and Producer of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

At our foundation, we lead and support community-driven efforts to address pressing needs in Montgomery County. We play a vital leadership role through advocacy, thought leadership, convenings, grantmaking, and partnerships with other philanthropic organizations, as well as local, county, and state governments. Our focus is on advancing solutions to the homelessness and affordable housing crises while bringing attention to racial equity and justice needs.

We are committed to addressing systems of oppression and disparities in opportunities and outcomes, especially in light of changing county demographics. By partnering with government and philanthropy colleagues, we aim to secure resources and support. To inform our priorities, we gather and share data and research on community needs and opportunities, highlighting nonprofit and civic engagement trends to enhance efforts for positive change. Additionally, we compile data on our initiatives and outcomes to showcase effective programs, share lessons learned, and leverage resources for equitable systems and decisions.
