As I researched HealthSpark Foundation, what kept striking me was 'authentic.'

We are pleased to welcome and introduce John Ramirez, Jr. to our foundation staff. John joined HealthSpark in mid-January as the new Controller. In this role, John will have overall responsibility for financial planning, management, oversight and reporting for HealthSpark.

John comes to the foundation after having worked in accounting and financial management for both the for- and nonprofit sectors, including Clarifi and United Way of Bucks County.

When asked what excites him about HealthSpark and its work, John said, "When I learned about collective impact from Stanford Social Innovation over a decade ago, I saw it as the Gandhi/King meme meets philanthropy. As I researched HealthSpark Foundation, what kept striking me was 'authentic'.  I have listened to many organizations, boards and teams, say loudly that they work collaboratively and collectively. Actions always speak louder than words.'"

He continued, "I was thrilled to be considered for this position, and am more so to be here."

Beyond work, John spent 2017 traveling the country in an Airstream travel trailer with his wife.

John has a Masters of Arts in International Peace Studies from the United Nations' mandated University for Peace, and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Bloomsburg University.

We welcome John to the HealthSpark family.
