Catholic Social Services Montgomery County To purchase training materials on the Bridges Out of Poverty curricula for staff and volunteers at Catholic Social Services, the Salvation Army, Hospitality Center and other organizations in Norristown. This grant will also purchase Getting Ahead in a Getting By World materials for clients in those same organizations. Additionally, a portion of the grant will be used to prepare a backroom at Catholic Social Services with appropriate drainage in advance of installation of walk-in coolers for their pantry. $5,000 Food Security and Nutrition Fund 2018

Jenkintown United Methodist Church To purchase and implement SmartChoice inventory and client management software designed specifically for food pantries, which will allow the pantry to service more clients more efficiently, enhance a choice model and have access to real-time inventory data. $10,000 Food Security and Nutrition Fund 2018
Manna on Main Street To upgrade the organization’s hardware and SmartChoice food pantry inventory and client management software, which will bring increased operational efficiency and allow clients to be better served. Software upgrades include a mobile friend web version for smart phones. $10,000 Food Security and Nutrition Fund 2018
Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities To purchase and install an automatic front door system for the organization to improve access to the building and enhance safety for clients, staff, volunteers and visitors. $10,000 Food Security and Nutrition Fund 2018
The Montgomery County Foundation, Inc. To develop the first-ever strategic plan for Advocates Against Hunger, a regional coalition of food pantries, soup kitchens and other organizations working to improve the emergency food system in Norristown. $12,250 Food Security and Nutrition Fund 2018
The Open Link To purchase and implement SmartChoice food pantry inventory and client management system and pilot it in their “Food Pantry Without Walls” program to deliver food to two underserved vulnerable populations in the greater Upper Perkiomen Valley. Seniors and families with children will be able to order food online and receive it in centralized, familiar hubs easing logistics and stigma. $15,000 Food Security and Nutrition Fund 2018
