"Donor Strategies to Prevent Childhood Obesity: Lessons from the Greater Philadelphia Region" identifies three key strategies for funders who seek to impact childhood obesity:
- Start early
- Increase access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity
- Enable healthy choices in both eating and physical activity
WISE SNAC, an initiative of the foundation from 2005 - 2013, is featured as a best practice (p.16).
The guide was commissioned by the Greater Philadelphia Food Funders and produced by the Center for High Impact Philanthropy at Penn. Foundation Senior Program Officer Tamela Luce serves as one of the current Co-Chairs for the Food Funders.
