SPARK Senior Centers are designed to meet the integral needs of aging adults across Montgomery County by providing access to a full range of Services, Programs, Activities, Resources, and Knowledge building opportunities for Seniors in our area, helping Seniors to live Vibrant, Purposeful, and Independent lives at any age. SPARK Senior Centers of MontCo is a community where aging is celebrated, and all who walk through our doors feel valued, supported, and connected.

SPARK Senior Centers offer a daily congregate meal and connect seniors with other benefit programs such as SNAP and the Senior Commodity Food Box. With the 2025 pause in SNAP benefits needs have increased. This funding would allow us to increase our Social Services Coorindator’s hours and expand our capacity to: educate our seniors about the changes to SNAP and the Senior Commodity Food Box Program through informational sessions; work one on one with seniors to help them navigate access to food and maintain eligibility for SNAP and/or Food Boxes throughout the duration of the shutdown; and mobilize partnerships to help the homebound seniors to whom we deliver Food Boxes have access to alternatives during this critical time.
