Generations of the Indian Valley: Advocacy
Advocacy is a critical lever for achieving healthy, equitable, and hopeful communities. When community members unite in support of policies, programs, and practices that directly and positively impact their lives, they are building power. Pivoting from direct service provider to community advocate is not always an easy or straight forward path for organizations. But every day, organizations and leaders in Montgomery County, like Generations of the Indian Valley, are working to address and improve civic engagement, racial and social equity, public policies and systems, and social determinants of health and well-being by leaning into advocacy. They are advancing solutions to the challenges faced by those they serve.
Watch this short clip as members of Generations of the Indian Valley reflect on what advocacy means to them.
