HealthSpark Foundation is pleased to offer tuition support for up to 10 Montgomery County community leaders who apply and are accepted to participate in the 2020 Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange (GPLEX) Conference. This year's GPLEX experience is virtual and will take place over a four week period: the weeks of October 12th, (4 hours); October 26th (2 hours); November 2nd (2-4 hours); November 9th (2-4 hours); and a final Showcase event on November 13th (2 hours).

The Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange is an initiative of the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia to develop leaders of business, civic, and government organizations into visionaries dedicated to making Greater Philadelphia a world class region. Participants include civic leaders representing government, for profit and non-profit businesses. They will convene in a cross-sector cohort to research and build post-COVID equity solutions for the region's workforce, transit, housing, & small business challenges. Participants will engage with local and national experts in plenary and small group sessions to build a shared framework to define and advance work to achieve racial equity and systems change.

Given the robust discussions about social justice and racial equity that have been shared by participants in the Build Back Better effort and others in Montgomery County, this is a both a unique and timely opportunity. I have participated in GPLEX for many years and find each year's learning experience relevant to my work and professional development. There is a time commitment required but if you are interested in applying, HealthSpark Foundation wants Montgomery County to be well-represented in these discussions. We have a richness of experience, leadership and opportunity that we believe can be leveraged into regional networks  interested in advancing racial equity and social justice, and share knowledge, experiences and resources.

Interested Montgomery County participants should apply directly to the Economy League through their web portal, available via the link below. Applications will be accepted through August 14th, and applicants will be informed of their acceptance into the conference by the Economy League by August 25th.

HealthSpark Foundation has provided grant funds directly to the Economy League for this purpose. Montgomery County applicants should note on their application, under Question 35: Registration Fee, Other: HealthSpark Foundation scholarship. HealthSpark and/or the Economy League will confirm with applicants if their registration qualifies for the scholarship upon approval of their conference application.
