HealthSpark is pleased to announce $197,500 in grant funds has been awarded to four organizations through our Racial Equity Learning Community initiative and Latino/a Media and Information Grant Program. Organizations awarded were invited to apply.

"As our communities continue to see challenges mounted against the ideal of creating inclusive and diverse public spaces, HealthSpark recognizes that we have a role to play in supporting organizations that lift up immigrant communities and that provide the tools for constructive conversations on racial equity and justice. We're pleased to continue our support for the Racial Equity Learning Community over the next three years as they expand their programming, as well as provide new, dedicated grant funds to grow Spanish-language media and information-sharing in the county.”

The Racial Equity Learning Community (RELC) is led by the Bucks-Mont Collaborative, Interagency Council of Norristown, and the Tri-County Community Network. The RELC launched in 2021 to support nonprofit and government partners in creating and building an internal strategy for their own racial equity action plans. Moving ahead, the RELC in years three through five will grow the individual organizational impact into community-centered action through the addition of partnerships with voter registration efforts and topic-focused advocacy. The RELC will advance racial equity and justice for all in Montgomery and Bucks Counties through collaboration, education, advocacy, community, and power building.

The Latino/a Media and Information Grant Program is part of HealthSpark's Voices for Change, which provides grant support for arts, storytelling, and journalism that lifts up unheard and underrepresented voices with the intention of creating a fairer and more just Montgomery County.
