Tamela Luce, Senior Program Officer

Tamela Luce has more than 20 years of experience in philanthropy and grantmaking, and brings a wide variety of nonprofit leadership and management skills, including strategic planning, financial analysis, fundraising, program development, volunteer recruitment and management, communications, marketing and media relations. She has designed and created numerous capacity building programs and learning collaboratives for nonprofits.

Prior to joining the foundation, Tamela was the Director of Grantmaking and Agency Relations for Women's Way, one of the nation's first women's funding organizations. 

Tamela has expertise on food policy and emergency food systems and frequently participates on regional and statewide committees on food access. She is an active member of the Food Funders Affinity Group of Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia, for which she was Co-Chair from 2014-2015, and the Pennsylvania Hunger Action Coalition. In 2015, she served on a workgroup to advise Governor Wolf's Food Security Partnership in crafting Setting the Table:  Blueprint for a Hunger-Free PA. She played an active role on the national planning committee for the 2017 Policy Briefing for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Funders (SAFSF) and was recently appointed to their new national Strategy Committee. She also currently serves on the planning committee for SAFSF's 2019 Annual Forum in Pittsburgh.

Tamela is a member of the Pennsylvania Health Funders Collaborative and is the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Domestic Abuse Project of Delaware County. 

Tamela has a Master of Public Administration degree, with a concentration in nonprofit management, from West Chester University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Institutions and Policy at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.

Tamela has called Philadelphia home for over 20 years and lives in Cheltenham. She travels extensively both domestically and internationally, and enjoys photography, being out in nature and loudly rooting for a Flyers win.
