Foundation elects new Board officers

COLMAR, PA - The North Penn Community Health Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of the following officers: 

  • Russell Hensel, of Lansdale, Chair
  • Nancy Alba Dunleavey of Blue Bell, Vice Chair
  • Kenneth Amey of Lower Gwynedd, Treasurer
  • Alfredo de la Peña of North Wales, Secretary

Russell Hensel is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Stubbs & Hensel Pharma Consulting, LLC, a local firm engaged in providing expert professional consulting services in the area of FDA regulated bioanalysis to the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industry. He has held director level positions at Tandem Laboratories, Johnson and Johnson PRD, National Medical Services and Covance Laboratories. Russ has also held leadership positions at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer and SmithKline Clinical Laboratories. In addition, Russ has earned an MS in Counseling from the Philadelphia Biblical University (PBU). He is a Pastoral Counselor and has worked for Hope Christian Counseling, and has served as a Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Eastern Regional Division. Russ is also an adjunct for the School of Life-Long Learning at PBU and teaches Developmental Psychology, Caregiving for Counselors and Ethics. In his spare time, Russ loves to relax with his wife Kendall and occasionally sail the Chesapeake Bay.

Nancy Alba Dunleavy chairs the Gwynedd-Mercy College Board of Trustees and serves on the LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Board of Directors; the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; and the Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Trustees, where she serves as Treasurer.  A 2006 alumna of the Anne B. Anstine Excellence in Public Service Series, Nancy accepted a 2012 appointment to the Whitpain Township Planning Commission.

Kenneth Amey, AICP is an independent land planner and Principal of Kenneth Amey Consultants, providing land planning consulting services for municipal and private clients for over 29 years. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Planning Association. Mr. Amey is also a member of the Montgomery County Lands Trust. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Temple University.

Alfredo de la Peña is the Chief Operating Officer of 1260 Housing Development Corporation and the Executive Director of Columbus Property Management. He also serves as the Board Chair of Family Services of Montgomery County. Born and raised in Uruguay, de la Peña immigrated to the United States with his wife, Ingrid, and their two sons in 1984. In 1989, he received a business degree from Temple University with specializations in real estate and finance. De la Peña and his wife enjoy making wine, bicycling and gardening.

Founded in 2002, the North Penn Community Health Foundation identifies, selects and invests in programs and agencies that will improve the health, welfare and quality of life in the community.  Since its inception, nearly $11 million has been distributed to 158 nonprofit organizations.
