New Initiative

The foundation just launched a new Safety Net Resiliency Initiative. While the foundation will continue its commitment to investing in systems change, the Safety Net Resiliency Initiative represents the primary focus of its work over the next decade. Applications to participate are due January 22, 2018 and may be accesses on this page.

How to Apply

The foundation has previously made grants to nonprofit organizations through four targeted funds. Below is a summary of the funds. 

The foundation only accepts applications via its online application system. This system includes all stages of the application and reporting processes.

Please note the foundation does not accept requests for annual support, events or other general solicitation.

Health Opportunities Fund

The goal of the Health Opportunities Fund is to improve access, coordination of service and quality patient outcomes for Montgomery County’s most vulnerable populations.

Housing Fund

The goal of the Housing Fund is to realize the opportunities outlined in the Your Way Home Montgomery County plan that seeks to use evidence-based tools for decision making, to reduce the cost of services, to increase the supply of affordable homes and to reduce homelessness in Montgomery County.

Food Security & Nutrition Fund

The goal of the Food Security & Nutrition Fund is to strengthen the food safety net and reduce hunger in Montgomery County. Click here to read about the foundation's grantees working on food security and nutrition. The foundation anticipates offering one final round of Pantry Capacity Grants in summer 2018.  

Catalyst Fund

The goal of the Catalyst Fund is to provide grant support for research, public policy, education, stakeholder convening and related efforts that build upon the activities of the other three targeted funds.
